The consolidation of economic and financial models for community forestry and agroforestry at regional and global level is a major challenge for poverty reduction and increasing the social and environmental well-being of societies in Central America.
The “Asociación Coordinadora Indígena y Campesina de Agroforesteria Comunitaria” (ACICAFOC), supported by the NFP facilty and Tropenbos International, studied between late 2010 and 2011 through a collaborative and interactive process with 17 member organizations of ACICAFOC, the financial management of indigenous and peasant organizations in Central America, with a special emphasis in forestry. The results of these studies are presented in this document.
