This publication provides a nationwide database of small-scale mills with the potential of being converted into artisanal millers to supply legal lumber to the domestic markets. The book spells out how to convert small-scale millers to artisanal millers through training in technical wood processing, technicalities of milling and factory management, exposure to basics of forestry policies, laws and regulations and business management in addition to assisting these millers to obtain legal timber by linking them to Timber Utilisation Contract (TUC) holders. The database on the 221 small-scale millers contained in this book includes information on their regional distribution and contact information. The book further makes recommendations aimed at promoting the smooth transition of these millers into artisanal millers.

It was published under the project “Supporting Knowledge and Regulation of Overland Timber Trade and Promoting Domestic Legal Timber Supply through Strengthening Artisanal Timber Milling in Ghana”
