Impact Areas

We seek to establish more inclusive and equitable governance and management of forests and trees in three impact areas:

		Community Forest Management and Conservation Inclusive and equitable governance of community managed forests, to ensure that communities benefit. >>> Go to page
		Participatory Forest and Landscape Restoration Bottom up restoration initiatives in degraded landscapes, based on improved livelihoods and economic opportunities for smallholders.
		Diversified Production Systems The use of agroforestry and incentives for the sustainable production of commodities and forest products, to prevent deforestation and support food security and livelihoods.

Across these impact areas, we pay particular attention to:

Responsible Business and Finance We believe that initiatives that contribute to climate resilience and sustainability of a landscape are best led and owned by local stakeholders. But they need additional finance to develop their initiatives and make them economically viable. We work to increase smallholder access to finance by removing barriers and designing innovative and locally adapted financial mechanisms. >>> Go to page

Gender and Youth We believe that young people and all genders must equally participate in designing and implementing climate-resilient solutions that reflect their interests and equitably share the benefits. We work to mainstream youth strategies, gender responsive and gender transformative action in all our activities and programmes.
