Applied research becomes increasingly more important. The concept
is good: use the knowledge, methods, and techniques the scientists
have, to solve problems people in society encounter. But, we can
ask ourselves how 'applied' is research, if the results are not
communicated properly to the people in society who need the results.
TBI-Ghana therefore started organising communication trainings with
the following objective: - To improve presentation skills and writing
skills of (young) researchers in order to make research results
accessible to a broader audience- To assist local organisations
in proposal writing.
Communication trainings have been given quarterly on presentation
skills, proposal writing, scientific writing, popular writing and
general communication theory. An overwhelming request for communication
trainings have resulted in a training of trainers workshop.
