15 May, 2012TBI Viet Nam held its final workshop of phase two on April 17th, 2012 in Hue, Viet Nam. The overall objective of the workshop was to evaluate the obtained results compiled by TBI Viet Nam, and to introduce the programme’s orientation thru 2016.
15 May, 2012On April 10th, 2012, TBI Viet Nam, with support from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), conducted a workshop in Ha Noi entitled, “Forestry Land Allocation: Policy and Practice.” The event was held in cooperation with the Department of Science, Technology and Environment (under MARD) and the Institute of Forest Planning and Inventory (FIPI).

Suriname has expressed its preparedness to follow the recommendations of the UNFCCC decision calling on developing countries to prepare for, and implement activities, related to enhancement of forest carbon stocks and avoidance or reduction of emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD), which account for approximately 15% of annual global emissions.
The objective of this project was increasing the capacity of the Ministry of RGB and its partner institutions to support the government of Suriname in conducting a ‘Forest Carbon Assessment’. The long-term overall objective of the project was the creation of a monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) system as part of a national REDD(+) strategy.
