Outcomes Workhsop on Forest Landscape Restoration

Natural resources management at the landscape level requires an integrated view of all aspects of the landscape (bio-physical, social, economic, and cultural) that optimises benefits for stakeholders living in the landscape. In order to develop principles for landscape approaches in natural resource management, TBI Indonesia, in collaboration with IUCN and ITTO, and with the support of the Ministry of Forestry and DGIS, published a Guideline for Forest Landscape Restoration in Indonesia. The guideline was developed by an informal Indonesian National Working Group on Landscape Restoration during a workshop held in Bali in May 2009 and has become a complement for the Ministry of Forestry Regulation No: P.61/Menhut-III/2008 regarding the provision and procedures for issuing permits for ecosystem restoration of forest timber utilisation of natural forests in production forests.
