| MSD process Guyana |
|
The project is using a multi-stakeholder dialogue (MSD) as the key mechanism for developing a consensus based action plan addressing the problems associated with chainsaw milling. This MSD will be fuelled with sound information to facilitate good decision making. The resulting action plan will be tested in 3 pilot communities (Ituni, Orealla/Siparuta and Annai/Surama) and be fed into national and international policy processes. A stakeholder analysis has been prepared to provide insight into who has a stake in the chainsaw lumbering enterprise, how big this stake is and the ways in which these stakeholders can influence the processes that determine the chainsaw lumbering issues. The stakeholder analysis will be finalised in consultation with the participants of the MSD in 2009. |
