| Renewed cooperation between Tropenbos International and the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality |

Tropenbos International has entered into a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. The purpose of this partnership is to provide the Ministry support in the field of international forests and biodiversity policies. Basis for this partnership agreement are TBI's country programmes and the Biodiversity Policy programme 2008-2011 'Biodiversity works: for nature, for people, forever'.
Under this partnership, the impact of Dutch actions on biodiversity, environmental services and trade chains in tropical forests will be assessed as well as the effectiveness of Dutch and international policies to address these effects. The activities will focus on the following themes: Forests Products and Trade, Biodiversity Conservation and Services, and Forest Governance. TBI's network, experience and expertise will be used to generate and synthesize knowledge to support international policy processes, to advice the ministry on key forest management issues, and to disseminate the findings through its networks, mainly using the European Tropical Forest Research Network (ETFRN ). |
