The economic and ecological assessment of non-timber forest products in the Bipindi-Akom II region

(ENDED)

Objective:
The aim of this research project is formulate concrete recommendations for the integration of NTFP-resources management in sustainable forest management strategies in order to assure the needs of the local population and to determine opportunities to raise the income from sustainable extraction
Output:

The harvesting practices, processing, commercialisation and uses of NTFP species and its actors were analysed. The distribution of NTFP species in the forests and human influences (agriculture including shifting cultivation, logging, harvesting of NTFPs) on this distribution have been analysed.Management recommendations have been formulated.
