TBI Cameroon

Overall forest land inventory and qualitative ecological land evaluation

(ENDED)

Objective:
to provide a scientific basis for decisions regarding sustainable land use alternatives for the Tropenbos-Cameroon research area. This will be realised through the development of a land evaluation methodology for humid tropical forests.
Output:

The requested methodology has been used to draw a landscape ecological map based on biophysical and disturbance (land use) criteria. Suitability maps for flora and fauna conservation, for the production of NTFP and timber, for shifting cultivation and for permanent agriculture (five crops) are published. The maps have been used in the preparation of the MMP and FMP
