Diversity and redundancy of mycorrhizal associations in tropical rain forests with different disturbance regimes

(ENDED)

Objective:
to assess mycorrhiza and seedlins development in relation to environmental conditions (Soil, microclimate) and human disturbance (shifting cultivation, logging)
Output:

The mycorrhiza composition in forest in various stages of disturbance (natural forest, shifting cultivation and selective logging) has been described and the influence of the latter on MIP has been analysed. The dependency on mycorrhiza of certain important tree species has been analysed and the effect of different amounts (added, isolation) and provenance (own and foreign) of inocula on establishment and growth of seedlings has been determined. The relation between soil characteristics and inoculum potential was analysed and the vulnerability of mycorrhiza types for disturbance studied.Management recommendations were formulated.
