| Project Outline |
| In order for a
more effective and sustainable management and utilization of
forest estates in Khe Tre SFE, this project has been developed
with the aim to provide inputs and recommendations for formulation
of policies.
The research project will focus on following activities:
- Overview of policies on forest management, utilization and
development in Viet Nam
- Overview of physical and socio-economic conditions and cultivation
practices of people living in communes under the management
of Khe Tre SFE
- Research on the current forestry production activities and
forest management and utilization in Khe Tre SFE, Thua Thien
Hue province
- Evaluation of programmes/projects undertaking in the area
- Evaluation the impacts from forestry policies on forest
management, utilization in Khe Tre SFE. Focus will be mainly
on investment policies for forest development (Programme 327,
project 661, Circular 28), policies on sustainable forest
management, policies on forestry lands allocation and policies
on benefits sharing and forestry products consumption (Decision
No 178)
